Individual & Relationship therapy
Individual therapy is for anyone who is primarily struggling with their own mental health. Whether you are having difficulty with depression or anxiety, a relationship, or managing stress. Your primary focus is on how you can identify your own patterns and make changes to how you manage your emotions, thoughts, and behaviours.
Kate uses both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement and Desensitisation Therapy (EMDR). With EMDR in particular, Kate also offers an ‘intensive’ format which is a 4hr+ session designed to assist processing and integrating challenges in a shorter space of time, allowing for a reduced impact of regular therapy time in your life. Think of an intensive session as the ‘hard and fast’ approach to therapy.
Psychological assessment and diagnosis (including ADHD and ASD)
The way ADHD and ASD are diagnosed in adults can be very confusing and difficult to navigate. If you are seeking a diagnostic assessment, it is important to consider your goals or desired outcome of the assessment. For instance, if you are primarily seeking an assessment and diagnosis to start medication therapy, then it is likely best to pursue a referral to a Psychiatrist or specialist GP.
If you are seeking an assessment and diagnosis to further understand your cognitive functioning and explore behavioral therapy approaches to managing conditions such as ADHD, then an assessment by a Clinical Psychologist is likely the best option.
